This week's 'Ride of the Week' is owned by Doug from Oyster Bay Cove, he owns this 1932 Ford Roadster built in Alabama by Alan at Johnson's Hotrod Shop. It has Perfection hotrod parts, radius rods, Perfection steering wheel, ladder bars, a Bowler 4L 60E overdrive automatic tranny. It is also made to look like it has drum brakes, but underneath there are disk brakes. Alan and Doug drove this 32 from the Father's Day roadster show in Pomona California to the NSRA event in Pueblo Colorado "mostly on old Route 66", most of the trip was across in 104-118 degree heat (with No Top). They stopped at the Grand Canyon and we joined 65 other hot rods in Durango Colorado (the Vintage Air Road Tour) and cruised together the rest of the way to Pueblo. This roadster was also the NSRA giveaway car in 2010.  Don’t forget to take note of the license plate, this exact car is on it.

This 1973 Plymouth Barracuda, also known as a “Cuda”, is a totally restored Pro Street car with only 1,500 miles.  Black on black with leather interior.  This car generates over 950 horse and winds out to over 9000 rpms.  It has an amazing 462 cubic inch Ernie Elliot grand national motor.  One piece of billet aluminum, hand made by Ernie Elliot.  The sound that this car produces is incredible.  When you roll up in this car, everybody’s head will turn.  There is a full roll cage and a fuel cell in the trunk.

This “Cuda” is equipped with Dana 60 rear strange axels and a Control Freak suspension.  There is a dry sump oil system circulating with a pump on the side of the motor.  Along with built in fuel filters, the motor holds 12 quarts of oil from a Funny Car (Joe Gibbs racing oil).  The engine never overheats.  It runs cool, under 200 degrees.  This cooling is helped by dual electric fans & an excellent cooling system and air conditioning.

As far as the inside goes, the Cuda has Corbeau race seats, 6 disc NASCAR clutch, full race harnesses, 6 speed Tremec transmission from a Viper and rock crusher treatment rated at 1200HP.  In the trunk there is the 40 gallon racing fuel cell along with a battery, complete with an on/off switch.  All of the gages light up and tell you when to shift.

The wheels are custom 2 piece aluminum billet made by CCW (Florida).  The wheels also have custom made spindles.

Call Joe’s Muscle Car Garage on 631-482-9670 for details and pricing.
